Shuttle Service from Dublin airport

A transfer service from Dublin Airport to Maynooth University will be provided on Sunday the 25th of August at 12:00 and 15:00 departing from the coach park in zone 16 near Terminal 1. There will be a number of volunteers meeting flights in Terminals 1 and 2 with ECEM 2024 signs and they will guide arrivals to the coach park.

Airport hopper

If you are arriving outside of the scheduled transfer times, you can also travel from Dublin Airport to Maynooth using the Airport Hopper service, which runs hourly. Tickets can be purchased via the Hopper app.

Below is a map showing the route from the Hopper terminus in Maynooth to the conference venue at the TSI building.

Taxis

The Uber app works best in Dublin City centre and can be used to travel from the airport to Maynooth. FreeNow is also a commonly used taxi hailing app. Taxis are relatively expensive in Ireland, so we recommend the use of the public transport service, where possible.

While in Maynooth, the local taxi service can be contacted at +353 (1) 628 9999.

Car parking

During the conference, parking on campus is free of charge. The nearest carpark to the TSI building is P14 (see campus map).

Travelling to Dublin from Maynooth

The best way to get to Dublin is by public transport using either the C3, C4, and 115 buses or the train. C3 and C4 buses run every 30 minutes during peak times and take up to 70 minutes from Maynooth to the city centre (O’Connell Bridge). The 115 is a regional bus that passes the Maynooth campus every hour and takes about 35 minutes to Dublin City centre. The cost of the journey one-way using a Leap card is €2. Leap cards can be purchased from the Centra or Londis shops on Maynooth Main St or from the ticket machine outside Maynooth train station.

It is advisable not to use cash on buses since the driver cannot make change. Also, be sure to download the TFI Live app for live bus and train times. Note, however, that Google maps has a better journey planner than the TFI app.

Trains to Dublin have a similar frequency as the C3/4 buses, but take around 45 minutes, with a fast service that takes 30 mins. Again, Leap cards can be used for trains and also city trams. The train fare from Maynooth to Dublin is also €2.
